He was predeceased by: his daughter Jessica; his son-in-law William Davis; his parents, Don Thorup and Dona Thorup; and his sisters, Linda Lingard and Lori Thorup.

He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Pearce Thorup; his children, Stephanie Jones (Shane), Jeffrey Thorup (Sarah) and Rebecca Wheelhouse (Kyle); his siblings, Lance, Launa and Leigh; and his grandchildren, Caden, Parker, Drew, Kate, Henry, Owen and Kira.
