He was predeceased by: his parents, Ted Maag and Velva Maag; his daughter Linda Hardinger; his grandson Cole Barney; and his brother Clyde Maag.

He is survived by: his wife Shirley; his children, Gary Maag (Gladys), Randy Maag (Larraine), Kevin Maag (Karyn), Lisa Whiteley (Wayne) and Troy Maag (Annalisa); and his siblings, Arlo Maag and Jeanette Bailey. He is also survived by 24 grandchildren and 48 great-grandchildren.
