He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Bremer and Evelyn Bremer. He is survived by: his wife Jana Porter; his brothers, Bill and Robert; and his children, Dana, Jennifer, Michele and Matthew. He is also survived by his five stepchildren; and 30 grandchildren.

For more than a decade, Dan faced Parkinson's disease and Lewy body dementia with determination before passing away from the effects of those illnesses.
