He was predeceased by : his parents, Elmer Bert and Mary Mabel Anderson Simmons; his siblings, Elizabeth Allen (Robert), Hazel Hart (Monroe), Elbert Simmons (Vivian), Paul Simmons (Virginia), Stan Simmons and MaryAnn McDill (Robert); and his brothers-in-law, Don Petty and Randall Theobald.

He is survived by : his wife Aleth Olsen; his children, Sandra Smith (Lynn), Scott Simmons (Lorrie) and Carol Welker (Doug); his sisters, Lucille Petty and Dora Theobald; and his sister-in-law Christa Simmons. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flower the family suggests donation be made to the Manti City Library.
