He was predeceased by: his son Hernando (Ernie). He is survived by: his wife Haydee; and his children, Yvette and Ric. He is also survived by his 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Hernando did not lose his curiosity or happy spirit despite his battle with Alzheimer's. In his later years, he loved spending time sitting on the porch and "people watching.".
