He was predeceased by: his parents, LeRoy Dermott Tingey and Cynthia Lunetta Moss; and his significant other Joylene Millet Rawle. He is survived by: his children, Sheri Tingey, Kent Tingey (Jean), Diane Bennett (Kelly), Janis Workman (Mark) and Chris Tingey (Wendy); and his siblings, Nila Pratt, Garth Tingey (Colleen), Afton Twitchell and Tom Tingey (Karen). He is also survived by 19 grandchildren; and 43 great-grandchildren.
Viewing was held on Saturday, May 2nd 2026 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (6770 S 500 E, Midvale, UT 84047). A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 2nd 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Saturday, May 2nd 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made in Marsel Tingey's name to BYU Life Sciences Department, or the American Cancer Society.
