He was predeceased by: his parents, William Lavon and Fern Maxfield Chappell; his wife De Ila; and his siblings, Flora Chestnut, Aldus, Sheldon and Terry Chappell.
He is survived by: his sons, Craig Bradford Chappell (Flora) and Stan T Chappell (Becky); his siblings, Dick Chappell and Neva Hutchings; his sisters-in-law, Eva and Irene Chappell; and his foster daughter Kate Martin. He is also survived by his children, 15 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandson.
Viewing will be held on Wednesday, May 20th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, May 21st 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 21st 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Fremont LDS Ward Chapel (24 S 100 W St, Loa, UT 84747). A burial will be held on Thursday, May 21st 2026 at the Fremont Cemetery (850 W Ctr St, Utah 84747).
His contribution to his family, his community, and his country were principles that governed his life.
