He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Mortensen and Verlyn Mortensen; and his siblings, Benjamin, Verlyn, Vear, MarTell and LaRee.

He is survived by: his wife Joan Simmons; his sister DonNell Anderson (Glade); and his children, Melinda Beesley (Blake), Jileen Anderson, Marci Chapman (Tim), Jennifer Mortensen and Casey Mortensen (Nikki). He is also survived by his 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren.

Viewing will be held on Sunday, October 4th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Monday, October 5th 2026 from 9:45 AM to 10:45 AM at the Same Church. A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Milton LDS Church (1255 N Morgan Valley Dr, Morgan, UT 84050).
