He was predeceased by: his great grandchildren, Madelyn Ivy Smith and Lucy Pearl Smith. He is survived by: his wife Margaret Ann; and his children, Paul (Stephanie), Thomas (Darlene), Rebecca (Scott), Mark (Terri) and Sister Marcella Sparks (Steven Webb). He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.
