He was predeceased by : his parents, Edward Monroe Whiting and Anna Lena Nelson Whiting; his siblings, Oris, Merle, Ruby, Selma, Glenn and Deloris; and his great grandchild Indy Llew Jones.

He is survived by : his wife Pat; his son Shane (Kathleen); his grandchildren, Megan (Robert), Skylee (McKay), Alyssa, Terah (Brian) and Chris (Malissa); and his brothers, Norman, Bud (Karen), Blaine (Carol) and Raymond (Claudia).
