He was predeceased by: his parents, Margaret Elizabeth "Bessie" Nielsen and Earl Nielsen; his sisters, Sharlene Allred, Bonita Corry and Margaret Olsen; his parents-in-law, Ray Edward Winter and Mary Jane Winter; and his brother-in-law Bruce Winter.
He is survived by: his children, Scot Nielsen (Annette), Brett Nielsen (Kelli) and Tena Duncan (Sam); and his wife Bonnie Rae Winter. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
