He was predeceased by: his mother Mary Smith Peterson; his significant other Ruth; his son Walter G. Ray II; his son-in-law Craig C. West; his grandsons, Ryan West and Ian Ray; and his sisters, Joan Washburn, Barbara Green and Margaret Clawson.
He is survived by: his brothers, Lynn Ray (Doreen) and Waldo Ray (Becky); and his children, Teresa West, Debra Gull (Alan), Matthew Ray, James Ray (Kathy) and Marianne Clark (Jordan). He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.
Viewing will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home (94 W 300 N, Nephi, UT 84648). There he found new friendships after years spent caring for Ruth and the isolation of the COVID pandemic.
