She was predeceased by: her parents, Swen Lawrence Nielson and LaFrance Russell; and her sister Barbara Freeman (Gordon). She is survived by: her husband Charles L. Schmalz; and her daughters, Karen Parker (Tim), Janet Autrey (Rob) and De Ann Kelly (Vail).
