He was predeceased by: his parents, Maria Frideborg Carlson and Ronald Knight Smith. He is survived by: his wife Sheryl; his sons, Gregory Smith (Cindy), Rodney Smith (Heike) and Jeffrey Smith (Glenna); his stepsons, Darren Brown (Natalie) and Trent Brown (Amy); and his siblings, Terry Smith (Julie), Brett Smith (Anna) and Ronna Marti.
Gary successfully lived with and managed Parkinson's disease for many, many, years until his body finally gave out.
