He was predeceased by: his mother Ethel Gegogeine Zinz; his brother Tim; and his sons, Shawn and Joseph. He is survived by: his father Jerold Zinz (Patricia); his children, Debbie Barney (Bill) of Pahrump, NV, Connie Fry (Ken) of Seneca, PA, Steve (Tammy) of Hurricane, UT, Jason of Sandy, UT, Dan (Dana) of Mountain Green, UT and Jeffrey (Olivia) of Lehi, UT; and his siblings, Mike (Sandy) and Mary Howard (Harold). He is also survived by his five grandsons and four great grandsons.
