He was predeceased by: his parents, Silas Banta and Hazel LeMasters Banta; and his brother Richard. He is survived by: his wife Karen Hauschild Kurr; his children, Jay Banta, Kathie Chadaz (Garth) and Kaylani; his former wife Sandra Hollars; his stepsons, Matthew and Michael Kurr; and his sister Brenda Gregones. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren.
