He was predeceased by: his parents, Woodrow Gilmer and Margaret Ruth Anderson Barnett; his brothers, Brent, Gene and David; and his grandson Carter Tyler Barnett.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth Elaine Burton; his children, Shauna Barnett, Chad Barnett (Julie), Eric Barnett (Lisa), Bret Barnett (Charity) and Carrie Cannon (Tye); and his sister Sheryn Lee Burton (John E.). He is also survived by 22 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
