He was predeceased by: his brother Richard; his grandparents, Richard, Dorothy McKenzie, Grace and George Rigby; his mother-in-law Lisa; and his brothers-in-law, Mitch and Bryan Murdock.
He is survived by: his parents, David George McKenzie and Melanie Ann Rigby of Benedict's Hospital; his wife Judy; his children, Benson David, Gracie Mae, Kimball Dan and Cubby Lund; his siblings, Davee McKenzie (Shelly), Megan Lee and Kellie Tolton (Andy); and his siblings-in-law, Johnny Murdock (Tessa), Jed Craner (Chelsea) and Sadie Craner. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Dan's contributions to training and his leadership contributed greatly to the national security of the country he loved.
