He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Victor Degn and Alma Wallace Degn; his siblings, William "Billy" Degn, Susan Degn McPeck (Daniel) and Earthly; his children, Heidi Michelle Hanley (Edward), Eric David Degn and Rachel Alma Degn; his stepdaughters, Diana and Nicole Wolf; his grandchildren, Evelyn, Mira, Maxwell, Mia and Ana; and his wife Renate Wolf.
During his marriage to his third wife, Gabriele, from 2008 - 2022, he beat a regular flight path to and from Germany until COVID shut the airports down.
