He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward James Gifford and Mary Alice Thorne; his close friend Billie; and his siblings, Lee, Eddie and Alice.

He is survived by: his significant other Wilma Billie'Thurston; his children, Todd Gifford (Sami), Camille Gilmore (Mickey), Nicki Bingham (Brian) and David Gifford (Mindi); and his brothers, Donald and Jessie. He is also survived by his children, 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Dee was blessed to be able to care for Billie for over a decade as she fought the battle of Alzheimer's.
