He was predeceased by: his parents, Mike Valdez and Mary Valdez (Pacheco); his siblings, Ross Valdez, Mike V. Valdez and Helen; his brother-in-law Roger Mascarenas; and his in-laws, Jim and LaVon Noriega.

He is survived by: his wife Josephine Noriega of Mary's Catholic Church; his children, Edward Valdez (Dawn), Joyce Nevarez, Denise Sanders (Bill) and Dennis Valdez (Tiffany); and his siblings, Robert E. Valdez and AnnaMarie Willie (Ron). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
