He was predeceased by: his parents, David Ruhel and Affie Minnie Christensen Symes. He is survived by: his wife Carol Symes; his children, Gary Symes (Judy), Colleen Boam (Ryan) and Barbara Jackson (Mike); and his brother Dale Symes. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.
