He was predeceased by: his father Dale Bernett Nelson; his brother Craig Dale Nelson; and his grandparents, Seth Leon Bell, Venice Ruth Bright Bell, Chester Bernett Nelson and Pearl Mae Watkins Nelson.
He is survived by: his wife Kelli Ann Surrage; his children, Katie Hansen (Jake), Brooke Bean (TJ) of Kelsie Gee, B. J, Daniel Nelson (Mariah Sadler) and Bryan Gee (Tiesa Bennett); his grandchildren, Kyndri, Autumn, Olivia, Preslee, Theo, Emry and Waylon; his mother Marilyn B. Nelson; his sisters, Sharon Nelson, Annette Ogden (Ryan) and Connie Doxey (Bryson); his parents-in-law, Val and Glenna Surrage; and his siblings-in-law, Brett Surrage, Troy Surrage and Amy Herrick (Chad). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
