He is survived by: his wife Sherry Telford Schmid; his children, Stephanie Tonks (Craig), Nancy Mott (Justin) and John Schmid (Amy); his daughter-in-law Cheryl Schmid; and his sisters, Helen Bassett (William) and Dorothy Spencer. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
