He was predeceased by: his parents, Delbert Bowers and Viola Bowers; his wife Lucille; his children, Paul (Cindy) and Karen; his son-in-law Evan Peters; and his grandson Dalton.
He is survived by: his daughter Kathy Vallard (Paul); his daughter-in-law Cindy Bowers (Paul); his grandchildren, Staci, Jeff, Shelley, Cristofer, Jim, Matthew, Nicholas, Tilbi, Sam (Evan), Emily and Ben; and his brother Harold. He is also survived by 30 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren.
In March of 2020, he moved to Nampa, Idaho, where he was able to meet and befriend new people despite there being a global pandemic.
