He was predeceased by: his wife Billie Kathleen Hemmert Smith; his son Michael Smith; his grandson Steven Short; and his great grandchild Darcie Hanchey. He is survived by: his children, Orlin, Katherine Thompson (Steven) of Plain City, UT, Nasia Smith of Ogden, UT, Bobbi Mani (Steve) of Twin Falls, ID, Nancy Smith of Fairfield Glade, Tennessee, Stan Smith (Shauna) of Plain City, UT and Steve. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Visitation was held on Friday, August 21st 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, August 22nd 2026 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary (3408 Washington Blvd, Ogden, UT 84401). A funeral service was held on Saturday, August 22nd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, August 22nd 2026 from 12:15 PM to 1:15 PM at the Lindquist's Washington Heights Memorial Park (4500 E Washington Blvd, Ogden, UT 84403).
