He was predeceased by: his father John Newey; his wife Lesley; his mother Genevieve Phillips Newey; his son-in-law Jason Bowden; and his parents-in-law, Melvin and Marian Parker Hines.

He is survived by: his children, Lisa Moxham (Marc), Jeff Newey (Stacy), Jana Asbill (Jeremy), Brett Newey, Jen Checketts (Chris) and Matt Newey (Felisha); and his sister Majken Harris. He is also survived by his fourteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Viewing was held on Sunday, October 18th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Monday, October 19th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 10:40 AM at the Huntsville Church (277 S 7400 E, Huntsville, UT 84317). A funeral service was held on Monday, October 19th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
