He was predeceased by: his parents, Hayden Candland and Gladys Candland; his wife Phyllis Joanne Brady; and his son Richard "David" Candland, Jr. (Cynthia Osborne-Candland). He is survived by: his brother Dean Candland; his children, Shellie D. McDowell (Gregory J. McDowell), Danny R. Candland, Chad D. Candland and Brad D. Candland; and his caregivers, Jennifer Hansen, Tim Gardewine and Richard.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 9th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Cemetery Is Myers Evergreen Memorial Park (100 Monroe Blvd, Ogden, UT 84404).
