He was predeceased by: his wife Suzann Stoney; and his father Bill Stoney. He is survived by: his mother Dorene Stoney (Bill Stoney); his children, Jackson Stoney (Andrea) of Garland, UT, Josh Stoney of Brigham City, UT and Jesi Phoenix (Jeremy) of Fielding, UT; his grandchildren, Kamri Teaupa (Kaina), Chance Phoenix of Garland, UT, Koleman Stoney, Kauter Grimshaw, Rye Phoenix (Lexi) of Garland, UT, Sage Phoenix of Fielding, UT and Violet Walsh of Garland, UT; and his brother David Stoney of Ogden, UT.. He is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren.

He was so fun and was amazingly talented at diagnosing, fixing and rebuilding starters and alternators. Everything he did was in his head. He was the the best at what he did. Rich made everyone feel like they were his friend. He was a truly great man. What a great legacy for his family”
