He was predeceased by: his parents, Johanna Layne and Harry Anderson Butters. He is survived by: his wife Judith Barber; and his children, Laura Butters (Keith Mills), Gregory Barber Butters (Tracey Reynolds), Derek Barber Butters (Kari Holladay), Roger Barber Butters (Michelle Jagerson), Heather Butters (Steve Smith) and Ryan Barber Butters (Taryn Dudley). He is also survived by 30 grandchildren – 9 married grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Viewing was held on Friday, November 7th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, November 8th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM. A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 8th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (2925 Bengal Blvd, Cottonwood Heights, UT 84121).
