He was predeceased by: his parents, Lear Alfred Summerill and Dorothy Van Dyke Summerill; his brother Wayne Summerill; and his brother-in-law Doug Cannon. He is survived by: his sister Sally S. Cannon; his sibling's children, Jay (Sheila), Tye (Carrie), Quinn (Jill), Drew (Tara) and Elysia C. Butler (Dave); his sister-in-law Sandra D. Summerill; and his nephews, Pete (Sara), Read (Karie) and Ryan (Laura).
