He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Nola Chandler and Asa Berkeley Compton; his former wife Lillie Deaton Wilkerson; and his sister Afton. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Green Compton; and his children, Lillie Kaye Moen (Mike), Benjamin Berkeley Compton (Susan) and Jenny Lyn Compton. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; and sixteen great‑grandchildren.
