He was predeceased by: his mother Roberta Peterson; and his parents-in-law, Seldon and Carol Owens. He is survived by: his father Bob Peterson; his wife Diane Owens Peterson; his children, Bradley Peterson (Mamta), Liz Ibarra (Dan), Melanie Morgan (Mark), Jeff Peterson (Sara) and Chris Peterson; and his grandchildren, Celeste, Joshua, Rebekah, Micah Ibarra, Jacob, Alyssa Morgan and Gretl Dawn Peterson.
In his last 15 years, Keith lived with Parkinson's Disease, which caused a progressive tremor and difficulty in everyday living.
