He was predeceased by: his parents, Freeman Moses Palmer and Mahala Antonette Palmer; his former wife Marlene Hughes; his siblings, Anna, Cherril, Fremela, Janell, LaVon, Darvol, Carl, Daniel and Jeffrey; and his grandson Oliver Young Palmer.
He is survived by: his wife Janine M. Solie of Waterloo, Iowa; his children, Eric D. Palmer (Anna Davis) of Utah, Aaron J. Palmer (Agi Szabo) of Idaho, Jared F. Palmer (Ruth Bol) of California, Edward J. Palmer (Stacy Boardsen) of Iowa, David R. Palmer (Vanina Rosas) of Colorado, Danny B. Palmer (Jamie Miller) of Idaho, Janene Wawro (William) of Texas and Kari Kieffer (Mathew) of Utah; and his brother Monte Palmer of Utah. He is also survived by his 56 grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (3712 Cedar Heights Dr, Cedar Falls, IA 50613). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
