He was predeceased by: his parents, Erasmo Ramirez and Ventura Villa Ramirez; his wife Rosa M. Ramirez; his son Carlos Ramirez; and his grandson Santos Ruiz, Jr..
He is survived by: his children, Sandra Ruiz (Santos), Price, Daniel Ramirez Jr. (Maria Ernestina) and Laura Larsen (Brent). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
For many years he supported the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, and was also a member of the Utah Sheriffs' Association, and the United States Deputy Sheriff's Association.
