He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford Anderson Sheriff and Retha Houskeeper; his wife Sharon; his son Steve; and his granddaughter Kristy Hunt Manzanares.

He is survived by: his daughters, Wendy Carter (Larry), Karee Hunt (Jeff) and Kim Magnuson (Mark); his daughter-in-law Robyn Sheriff; and his siblings, Kevin, Renon Bennet and Linda Bartunek (Tom). He is also survived by eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren.
