He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis W. Schaelling and Ada Ward; his wife Jeanine Larson; and his daughter Jennifer. He is survived by: his children, Anne, Elaine, Gregory, Elizabeth, Rebecca, Layton and Matthew. He is also survived by 35 grandchildren and 71 great-grandchildren.
In his later years, he cared selflessly for Jeanine through more than a decade of Alzheimer's, embodying patience and devotion in every moment.
