“I lived in the ward with Darlene and her family starting in 1972. I was 10 years old. I remember her positive and cheerful attitude. She became very good friends with my mother, Wanda Panhorst. They worked together at Timpview's school lunch and continued that friendship until my mother died. I still remember the time she was in a terrible accident and had to wear a halo, screwed to her head. Her comparison to what the Savior must have felt with His crown of thorns has also stuck with me.”
