He was predeceased by : his parents, Helen Virginia Leitzell (Garner) and Val Douglas Garner. He is survived by : his wife Joyce; his children, Camille Jones (Scott) of Bountiful, Utah, Jennifer Anderson (Sabe) of Highland, Utah, Tom Garner (Hillary) of Farmington, Utah, Andrea Ekins (Matthew) of St. George, Utah, Ashley Hyde (Adam) of Bremerton, Washington and Heather Williams (Ryan) of Ammon, Idaho; and his siblings, Leslee Freeman (Mike), Blair Garner (Debra) and Scott Garner (Sydney). He is also survived by 30 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 12th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, April 13th 2024 from 9:45 AM to 10:45 AM. A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 13th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the 6th Ward Chapel (900 S 400 E, Centerville, UT 84014).
