She was predeceased by: her parents, Elmer Bates and Mary Jane Garrard Bates; her husband Thayne Covert Maxfield; her daughters, Angie McElroy and Tonya Maxfield; her grandson Brandon McElroy; and her brother Joe Bates.

She is survived by: her children, Shawn Maxfield (Shaunna), Delta, Tracy Benson (John), Kean Maxfield and Jolene Fritzges (Dave); and her siblings, Carloyn, Marlene, Jane and Sonny. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Viewing was held on Friday, November 28th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, November 29th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:40 AM. A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 29th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Delta 3rd LDS Ward Chapel (197 S 300 W Rd, Delta, UT 84624).
