He was predeceased by: his parents, Ilo Joshua Swan and Connie K. Swan; and his daughter Kelly Anne Swan. He is survived by: his wife Debra Swan; his daughter Lindsay Biesinger (Andrew Scott); his grandchildren, Elliot Andrew Biesinger and Liv Kelly Biesinger; and his brother Charles (Deborah). He is also survived by extended family, and a host of nieces and nephews.

“Richard was a huge part of our teenage years. We ran in a pack with Dave & Carol Paulsen, Steve Jacobsen, Denee Simic, Verna Holden, Gregg & Patti Gadd, Mark & Greg Griffen, Jayne Kretchmer, Jacque Gorbutt, Suzi McOmber, etc. Richard was a fun guy. We even had nicknames that caused everyone to chuckle when we used them. Richard took his nickname in stride and never flinched! We would all close out the Saturday night dances at the stake center and party at Fentons or Straw Hat Pizza!”
