He was predeceased by: his parents, Wade Elliott Miller and Romania Lenora Davis; and his sister Tina Miller Lorge (Mark). He is survived by: his daughter Patricia Fay Haws; his wife Patricia Fay Haws; his sons, Wade Miller (Angela), Keith Miller (Robyn) and Blake Miller; his brothers, Dale Miller (Laurel), Bruce Miller (Elaine) and David Miller; his grandchildren, Elliott Miller (Jessica), Sage Miller Reese (Nicholas), Bailey Miller Smith (Wyatt), Joshua Miller, Elise Miller, Charlotte Miller and Zella Miller; and his great grandchildren, Eleanor, Charlotte and Katherine Miller.
He and his colleagues made a major contribution to the field of paleontology when they discovered a fossilized dinosaur egg with the oldest known embryo of any kind, about 150 million years old.
