She was predeceased by: her husband James W. Garvey of Memphis; her parents, Alfred Pike, Sr. and Louise Applebury Crouch of Memphis; her brothers, Alfred Pike, Jr. of Oakland and James Kennan Pike of Germantown; and her stepson Jerry Rakestraw of Memphis, Tennessee..

She is survived by: her children, Vicki McDaniel (Johnny) of Fairview, Greg Garvey of Shelby and Dana Adams (Mike) of Madison; and also Ronald Rakestraw (Kathy) of Enterprise, Alabama.. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to the Living Word Class, Bellevue Baptist Church, Cordova, Tennessee.
