We announce the death of Joyce Lorraine Smith (Riverton, Utah), who passed away on September 30, 2026, at the age of 87. Joyce will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Joyce will be remembered for the impact she had on the lives of those around her. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Joyce will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture her life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Joyce’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued her companionship.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Harold Smith and Lorraine Smith; her husband Norman Kay; and her brother Harold Smith. She is survived by: her children, Sherry Frangia (George), Janice Kelly, Doug Kay (Cyndi) and Debbie Copier (Eldon); and her sister Lorrie Ryther Hall. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Arete Event Center (11968 S Redwood Rd, Riverton, UT 84065).
