He was predeceased by : his wife Velma Rae Woodard; his parents, Leif Feragen and Lily Feragen; his siblings, Roy, Ronnie, Leif, Gordy, Clint and Thelma; his children, Mary Jo, Cortney and Troy; and his granddaughter Kayle Waters.

He is survived by : his children, Jess, Steve and Rhonda Kump (Bryan); his grandchildren, Nikki Stookey (Trevor), Candace, Cortney, James, Megan Plank (Garret), Veronica, Tanner Waters (Aubrey) and Hayden Waters; and his sister Carol. He is also survived by 14 Great grandchildren.
