It is with great sadness that we announce the death of De Ann Papworth Emerson Hawkes of Saint George, Utah, born in Afton, Wyoming, who passed away on March 19, 2021, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Rich Hawkes; and her parents, Covey Papworth and Donna Papworth. She is survived by: her former husband Frank Emerson; her brother Robert Papworth (Christine); her sons, Mark Emerson (Leeza), Todd Emerson (Dianne) and Ryan Emerson (Shawnalee); and her stepchildren, Clarice Goodwin (Chris), Emily Bokinskie (Jimmy), Elden Hawkes (Tracy) and Rich Hawkes (Maranda). She is also survived by her fifteen grandchildren, twelve step grandchildren and one great grandchild.

For her, the worst insult of the pandemic was the cancellation of the 2020 Kentucky Derby.
