He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, James Henry Dixon and Sarah Elizabeth Hurd; his fiancée Norma Davis; and his children, Darrel (Melva), Salt, Gary, Shelley Caldwell (Gary), Duane (Brenda) and Ron. He was also cherished by his ten grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
