He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore Schmidt and Charlotte Schmidt; his wife Pat; his sons, Glenn M. Schmidt and Benjamin D. Schmidt; and his brothers, Dean and Kenneth Schmidt.
He is survived by: his daughters, Elva (David) and Allison; and his sister Genean Warner. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
