He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Robert Louis "Pete" Petersen Sr. and Dora Burnett Ellison; his wife Karen Sue; his children, Matthew (Maralise), Carrie (Brandon), Bryce and Mark (Lindsay); his grandchildren, Stone, Grey, Luke, Katelyn, Pete, Riley, Gabriel, Zoë, Tommy and Eleonore; and his siblings, Robert Louis Petersen Jr. and Jeanne Elizabeth Petersen Ellis. He was also cherished by his mother, lived to make his father proud, and adored his children and grandchildren.

Like the initials carved into that Blue Ridge Mountain tree, Pete left an indelible mark of faith, hope, and charity for generations to come.
