He was predeceased by: his parents, James William Ames and Vivian Anna Jacobson Ames; his siblings, Vanda Trotter, Virginia Culbertson, Madge Johnson, Mildred Dodd, Aurora Riley, Boyd Ames, Ruth Olsen, Ray Ames, Reed Ames, Anna May McCurdy and Janet Arlene McKenzie Ames; and his daughter Jani Sylvia Ames.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Soelberg-Ames of St. George, Utah; and his children, Karry Raber (Randy) of Hanford, Rhonda Gividen (Chuck) of Corvallis, Jim Ames (Tina) of Moses Lake, John Ames (Lisa) of St. George, Brenda Belnap (Alan) of Hanford and Deni Robinson (Tom) of Mica, Washington. He is also survived by twenty-four grandchildren; and sixty-one great-grandchildren.
